Ready to Level Up for Real?

Jon’s got the blueprint.

Empirical Fitness Founder & CEO

Jon R Brown

CSCS, CPT, USAW, USAPL, FMS, PN1, Primal7, U.S. Olympic Trainer - Bronze, Habit Coach Certified

Jon Brown founded Empirical Fitness in 2019 with a simple mission: to help people achieve real results with real methods. His passion for fitness — and for cutting through the noise of bad advice — led him to create programs rooted in science, not fads.

Before launching Empirical Fitness, Jon noticed a troubling pattern across the industry. Too many people were being misled when it came to four major goals:

  • Losing weight
  • Building muscle
  • Boosting athletic performance
  • Recovering from injuries

The processes he’s developed since are designed to fix that — offering clear, realistic paths toward lasting results in each area.

Even Nerds Who Lift Weights, his fast-growing social media community, was born from that same drive. During the early 2020s, as anime-themed workouts and influencer quick-fixes flooded the internet, Jon saw an opportunity: to create a space where nerds, geeks, and weebs could find real, reliable fitness support.

His connection to the nerd community didn’t just inspire a few memes — it kept Empirical Fitness alive through some of the toughest years. It also shaped some of its most important offerings: educational seminars at anime conventions and local gyms, virtual training programs for people everywhere, and an active, supportive Nerds Who Lift Weights community that provides free, science-backed guidance for anyone ready to level up.

Jon's Philosophy

You can keep looking for a shortcut, or you can get results. But you’re not gonna get both.

Testimonials

Our clients say...

Jon helped me recover from a skydiving injury much more quickly than I would have by following the exercises given by my physician. I could not be more pleased 🙂

FITNESS TRAINER, HABIT COACH, DIRECTOR OF CLIENT ACQUISITION

Jazz M Daigle

NASM PES, Habit Coach Certified, EF IPD, CPT, DBC Level 1

Jazz has been part of the Empirical Fitness family since the very beginning.

Her passion for coaching started on the roller derby track, where she first discovered the power of helping others tap into their inner confidence by becoming stronger, smarter athletes. Teaching the fundamentals of the sport lit a fire in her — a love for training that never burned out.

Shortly after Empirical Fitness was founded, Jazz shifted from behind-the-scenes administrative work to training virtual clients who needed real guidance during the pandemic. She earned her certification during that time and has been leveling up her skills ever since.

After relocating to the DFW area, Jazz expanded her focus to habit coaching, virtual training, and creating educational content for Empirical Fitness — including online courses and presentations.

In Summer 2025, she will launch a new line of services under the Empirical Fitness umbrella, dedicated to teaching young athletes how to properly train, recover, and care for their bodies — setting the foundation for lifelong success.

Nerds Whole Lift Weights

Nerds Who Lift Weights was created to prove that you don’t have to fit a stereotype to be strong. Founded during a time when misinformation was spreading faster than anime spoilers, our community was built for nerds, geeks, gamers, and weebs who want real, science-backed fitness guidance — without losing what makes them unique.

Fitness is more fun when you’re among friends who get you. Nerds Who Lift Weights is a free Facebook community for nerds, geeks, and weebs who want to level up their strength in a space that feels like home.
